Southern Pecan Pie Recipe

Southern Pecan Pie

1 single crust recipe from Flaky Pie Crust
3 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecan halves


Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Prepare dough for single-crust pie. Place crust in 9 inch pan and chill.

Beat eggs in large bowl. Beat in corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, and salt. Mix well. Stir in chopped pecans and pour into unbaked pie shell. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the top.

Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted slightly off center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
